Specifications:
Lets be clear about one thing; This is not a Kmart Special or cheap single season imported umbrella.
The Bug Umbrella is made entirely in America. All of the sewing is done in Rhode Island, the re-manufacturing of the frame and assembly are done in Connecticut. We have also gone to great lengths to source components that are made in America. The canopy fabric is made in North Carolina, the netting is made in Upstate New York, most of the injection molded parts and fasteners are made or supplied from various other areas in the United States.
We use only the highest quality components to build your Bug Umbrella. The canopy is a solution dyed acrylic material made by Sunbrella or Outdura (click on them to view the manufacturers 5 year warranty against mildew, fading, or UV rot). The netting is a solution dyed knitted polyester fabric. The cords are round braided polyester with a 190lb break strength, they lift a 5oz weight on the Bug Umbrella. We do not use standard umbrella cord, both crank mechanisms use a specialty marine cord consisting of 100% Spectra fibers. This cord has a 1400lb break strength and better abrasion resistance than stainless steel cable (standard umbrella cord has about a 250lb break strength and poor abrasion resistance). Whenever possible we use acrylic or polyester instead of nylon because of their natural ability to withstand the effects of extended periods in direct sunlight. The frame is made from powder coated thick wall aluminum extrusion.
- Overall height = 9 feet
- Height at the end of the umbrella arm = 6 feet 3 inches
- Width = 10 feet 6 inches
- Shape = octagon, eight sides 50 inches each side.
- 2 doors on opposite sides.
